This is another photography opportunity for me amongst the 240 events by the Tourism Malaysia during this year long event to promote Malaysia. The theme for this year's Flora Fest is Colours Of Harmony, as Malaysia's colourful blooms represent the beautiful racial harmony found in Malaysia. Originally introduced in 1991, Malaysia's Floral Parade is the only such parade ever organized in Southeast Asia. And this year the parade will be more dazzling than ever. Participants from various organizations and state governments will try to outshine one another with their own floral creations.
This time I've a buddy celebrity photographer Amry Ginang accompany me at the Eye. A couple of tips from him with my fish-eye, I was able to see something that I've never thought of doing. Thank you. The time came for me to do what I came to achieve today- low light sports photography. Not exactly a successful evening, but something for me to look forward by tomorrow with another round of Low Light Sports Photography, here are some of 'em:-
Not forgetting the fireworks from this angle:-
Before I end, I'd like all of you to take the effort to record all these moments. You might never know, there's a photography contest yet to announce soon.
These are some of the images that I took end of 2006, which I wish they could have been able to get exhibited in Annexe in the coming NYKL (New York & Kuala Lumpur) at the Central Market Art Center. Since they're not, I hope you'll like 'em posted here:-
Old Church @ Jalan Tun Sambathan Rising Sun, Exxon Mobil near KLCC Lines & Shapes, @ Dayabumi, Kuala Lumpur Sultan Abdul Samad Building
The morning started some exciting agenda with my clients and a meeting with my fellow photographer to initiate 2 projects later this year for TDC and her subsidiary. First one to rebrand one of my postcard series and another one probably will take me to Dubai to promote Malaysia in a big way.
No photography opportunity at Titiwangsa, as I understood that the fireworks will only be displayed during the weekends. However, this could be a good day for other photo outing; unfortunately, I've to reply quite a few posting in www.photomalaysia.com regarding Salon Photography issues... Not a productive day, if you asked me.
But I know, something good is coming, when the person-in-charge visited this blog with my recent images taken within the last one week.
This time I thought of doing a little variation of the fireworks, so I went back again today with these, I've to pick those shots with the Eye on still and the Fireworks display around the negative space before I release the shutter, so there'll be not too many successful shots:-They are kind of abstract and we're lucky to be able to practise this 'everyday', and you know who I met, Kelvin Chan from PCP.
We 'd a little exchange of what've done just now, and he told me that, "KL photographers can do a book on this now!". I believe so! Here are more:-
A much anticipated event in January, 2007 and another upcoming similar event in Putrajaya on th 27th January. Another earlier morning for me, unfortunately the weather is not on my side.
Never thought that I'll be doing any shoot today... but the heavy traffic brought me to the Eye, detoured from my way home this evening...
This is the 3rd time going there. The first time, armed with a 4x5 field camera before the opening day, the 2nd time was 3 days ago with the Linhof 4x5 again. I've not done the scanning yet, now it seems that I don't have to do it because, I can show you the 400D versions, which I brought along during my day assignment. Hope you'll like it.After a couple of Landscape orientation shots, I did some portrait versions:
Spending most of my time working with computer graphics and editing for TV, I'd to venture into something more challenging and hopefully leaving some foot prints behind in this lifetime... So I took up photography...
Started as a hobby, now it is something I cannot live without it. I own a Leica M7 for small format - mostly for Salon works; Hasso for MF - mostly for B&W Fine Art works; and Sinar/Linhof for LF - mostly for Landscape and Architecture works. Lens... lost count
The recent introduction into Digital photography has given me the opportunity to work with Nikon D1x, later an unbeatable offer from Canon to 1DM2 and love every moment of it, especially the lastest 50mm f/1.2 lens. Digital - mostly for events/functions/editorial works.
My 2nd darkroom is almost into her final phase... which I'll be able to continue my B&W wet prints soon... The joy of holding a wet print is beyond words... I sold some of my prints but the battle is UPHILL!
My advice (2 sen worth!): know your equipment well, especially the lenses... Shoot what pleases you most, and try to please others... when you've achieve both and still be able to please yourselves... You have WON!
